Question: What are the dates of the Surprize Fries Promotion at McDonald’s 2024?

Answer: It starts on 29th May 2024 and ends on 2nd July 2024 inclusive. You will be able to participate in the Surprize Fries promotion by purchasing a qualifying menu item (any Medium or Large Fries) from 09:00:00 on 29th May 2024, until 2nd July 2024 at 23:59:59.

Question: When do I have to make my prize claim?

Answer: The last day to claim your food and non-food prizes is 9th July 2024. Please check the Rules for full details of all the dates. Get the date in your diary to make sure you don’t miss out!

Question: Who can play the Surprize Fries Promotion at McDonald’s 2024 ROI at McDonald’s?

Answer: We would love to be able to let everyone play but unfortunately there are restrictions.

• You must be aged 18 or over;
  
  
• Republic of Ireland residents only;
  
  
• You must not be an employee of McDonald’s or any of McDonald’s promotional partners or agencies or a family member of any such employee.
  
  
• You must be an individual and not part of a syndicate or a collection of persons acting in concert.
  
  
• Entries cannot be submitted on another person’s behalf.

Question: I am under 18 – can I still buy fries which qualify as part of the Surprize Fries Promotion, even though I can’t play?

Answer: Yes, however, you are not allowed to play and you cannot sell or give away your Surprize Fries at McDonald’s 2024 ROI game pieces. If you try to do so, your Surprize Fries game pieces will become invalid.

Question: My child who is under 18 made a purchase and was provided with game pieces but has been told they cannot play or claim any prize – why is this?

Answer: Under the promotional Rules, only eligible people can play and claim prizes. This means you must be 18 years of age or over, a resident of the Republic of Ireland and you must not be an employee or family member of a McDonald’s employee or its promotional partners and agencies. All Medium and Large promotional Surprize Fries cartons come with game pieces attached to make sure that all eligible customers get their Surprize Fries game pieces (subject to availability). Anyone who isn’t eligible for the Surprize Fries promotion for any reason, can still purchase promotional items if they want.  

Question: Do I have to make a purchase to get a Surprize Fries game piece?

Answer: Yes. Surprize Fries game pieces are provided on Medium and Large promotional Surprize Fries cartons. You will need to purchase a qualifying Medium or Large Fries to receive a game piece. Please note Small Fries are not a qualifying menu item.

Question: What is a Surprize Fries game piece?

Answer:  Surprize Fries game pieces are what you use to play the game  - they are the sticker you peel off the Medium or Large promotional Surprize Fries cartons. Please keep your physical Surprize Fries game pieces safe by storing them somewhere like a wallet or purse, as these may be needed to redeem your prize.

Question: Where can I buy qualifying menu items to get a game piece?

Answer: All participating McDonalds restaurants will stock Medium and Large promotional Surprize Fries cartons at the start of the promotion and will continue to aim to do so until the end of the promotion, unless stocks run out earlier.

Question: Can I order Promotional Surprize Fries cartons via Delivery?

Answer: Yes, you can order promotional Surprize Fries cartons via Uber Eats, Just Eat or Deliveroo. Orders made remotely via delivery companies do not and cannot guarantee availability of Surprize Fries game pieces. Unfortunately, it is not possible to redeem Food Voucher Prizes on orders made with Uber Eats, Just Eat or Deliveroo and Food Voucher Prizes will need to be redeemed in a participating McDonalds restaurant.

Please note that supply of game pieces is always subject to availability. So, if your restaurant temporarily runs out at any time, or if towards the end of the promotion some restaurants start to run out of Medium or Large promotional Surprize Fries cartons, you may not receive the game pieces that you hoped for. Unfortunately, there is no way for you to find out if this applies to the items you wish to order without going to a restaurant and asking a Crew Member in person before placing your order at the restaurant. Orders made remotely via delivery companies do not and cannot guarantee availability of games pieces.

Question: Will the game pieces run out at a McDonald’s restaurant and why does this happen?

Answer: McDonald’s has carefully estimated demand when producing the total number of Surprize Fries game pieces across the Medium and Large Fries sizes. It is always likely however that some items will be more popular than expected and that others will be less so and this situation will change from restaurant to restaurant. As a result, it’s not possible to say for how long a particular McDonald’s restaurant will have certain stocks of Medium and Large promotional Surprize Fries cartons. We deliberately don’t over-print game pieces at the risk of increasing the number of game pieces that may be left over at the end of the promotion. Customers wishing to obtain Medium and/or Large promotional Surprize Fries cartons towards the end of the promotion should, before placing an order, check at the customer’s selected participating McDonald’s restaurant to establish whether the required Fries size is in stock at that restaurant.

If the promotion proves more popular than anticipated it’s likely that more participating McDonald’s restaurants will run out of promotional Fries cartons bearing Surprize Fries game pieces before the end of the promotion. If a significant number of McDonald’s restaurants start to run out of Medium and Large promotional Surprize Fries cartons, we will endeavour to post relevant information at News.

For all types of remote order, via delivery companies, availability of Surprize Fries game pieces cannot be guaranteed because real-time availability can only be checked in-person at a participating McDonald’s restaurant so any customer only wanting to place an order for a Medium or Large promotional Surprize Fries carton carrying a Surprize Fries game piece should visit a restaurant and place the order whilst there and only after checking availability with a crew member.

Question: Do you do anything to make sure that game pieces are given out fairly?

Answer: Yes. McDonald’s is applying a Fair Ordering Policy, which enables McDonalds restaurants to act, if for example, it seems that individuals are buying menu items without any intention of consuming them, solely to obtain a disproportionately large number of game pieces. Please see the Rules for more details.

Question: How do I enter my Game Piece Code?

Answer:  In this promotion, you can manually enter the 12-digit code game piece code via the McDonald’s (ROI) App only; you cannot play via the McDonald’s website. Throughout the promotion there is a limit of 8 entries per email address per calendar day.

Question: How do I play via the McDonald’s (ROI) app?

Answer: Register or log in to the McDonald’s (ROI) App to play Surprize Fries game pieces containing a game piece code. Once you have registered and signed into the App, you can play by clicking through the Surprize Fries banner. Once logged in you can navigate to different sections in the experience.

You can track the prizes you have won in the app via your Surprize Fries Wallet. All Food Prize Wins will be applied to your Surprize Fries Wallet and automatically applied to the ‘Offers’ section of your McDonald’s (ROI) App ready for redemption.

Question: Do I have to answer a skill-based question every time I enter a game piece code?

Answer: Yes. You must answer the skill-based question correctly to progress in the game. If you answer the question incorrectly you will not be able to play the game piece code again.

Question: What do I do with my Surprize Fries game pieces after a claim?

Answer: Once a game piece or code has been used in a claim or partial claim by anyone, no-one can use that code or game piece again for that claim. NOTE: you need to keep your game pieces even after you’ve used them as McDonald’s may ask to see Surprize Fries game pieces as part of the claim verification process. Remember to keep your Surprize Fries game pieces safe and private so that no one else can use a Surprize Fries game piece or its code. To make sure the Surprize Fries game pieces and codes are kept private do not share photos of them on social media sites or with anyone else. Prizes won as part of the promotion will be collected in your Surprize Fries Wallet but please keep hold of your Surprize Fries game pieces until the claim verification process is complete and you have received your prize.

Question: I think I have won. How do I claim a prize?

Answer: This depends on what game and what type of prize you’ve won:

CLAIMING A FOOD PRIZE:

o   Win a food prize via the McDonald’s (ROI) App and your food prize will be automatically added to the “Offers” section of your McDonald’s (ROI) App. Follow the steps in the McDonald’s (ROI) App for how to redeem your food prize in restaurant via the counter or Drive Thru.

CLAIMING A CASH PRIZE:

o   Win cash via the McDonald’s (ROI) App and submit your claim via a prize claim form provided in-app by 9^th July 2024. Once completed, you will receive an email confirmation. Once your information has been checked and verified, your cash prize will be transferred via bank transfer. If the bank transfer cannot be processed, you will receive your cash prize via cheque. The cheque will be sent to the address provided in the completed prize claim form.

CLAIMING A MERCHANDISE PRIZE:

o   Win merchandise via the McDonald’s (ROI) app and submit your claim by completing the prize claim form provided in-app by 9^th July 2024. Once completed, you will receive an email confirmation. Once your information has been checked and verified, the prize will be sent to the address you provide in the completed prize claim form.

CLAIMING A DIGITAL PRIZE

o   For the Pair of Cinema Tickets prize, you will receive an e-mail with your fulfilment code and redemption instructions.

Question: Where can I redeem my Surprize Fries Promotion at McDonald’s 2024 food prize?

Answer:  You can redeem your food prize offers won in the Surprize Fries Promotion at McDonald’s 2024, at any participating McDonalds restaurant in the Republic of Ireland. It is not possible to redeem food prizes via kiosk or via McDelivery orders taken by Uber Eats, Deliveroo or Just Eat. If you have a winning food voucher prize you can only redeem it in a restaurant at the counter or drive-thru by showing your activated food prize offer in App to a member of staff. No other method of redemption is permitted.

Question: How do I redeem my food prizes?

Answer: You will find the food prize offer in the ‘Offers’ section in the McDonald's (ROI) App. Tap the offer and follow the steps in-app to activate your offer. Once activated, you will have 10 minutes to redeem the food prize offer. After that the food prize offer expires and you will not be able to redeem this again. We recommend you activate your prize when you are with the McDonald’s member of staff to ensure your prize doesn’t expire.

Question: How soon will I receive my prize?

Answer: This can differ depending on the prize won. Check the Rules to find out more. For most prizes other than food, please allow up to 30 days for us to get your prize to you.

Question: Do I still need to keep my Surprize Fries Game Piece after claiming my prize?

Answer: Yes! McDonald’s may require seeing your Surprize Fries Game Piece to verify your claim. Verification can take place even after notification that an award is being made. Please take care not to damage your Surprize Fries Game Piece – it will become void for all purposes if you do.

Question: Problems with your Prize Claim?

Answer: What to do will depend on the type of problem:
 

• If you have been notified that you have won and you have submitted a prize claim in the McDonald's (ROI) App, but did not receive a confirmatory prize email - Please check your junk mail folder. If your email is still not in your inbox or junk mail folder after 24 hours please email the Surprize Fries promotion at McDonald’s 2024 Customer Service team at surprize-fries@mcdonalds.co.uk with details of your email address and winning game piece code.
  
  
• If you submitted the wrong bank details in error - Unfortunately it’s not possible to change your account details once submitted and we can’t accept responsibility for this. However, if the error meant that no transfer could be made, then you will be sent a cheque to the address you provided during the claim process.
  
  
• If you chose a bank transfer for a cash prize but you received a cheque – if we have trouble completing your bank transfer we will send you the cash amount via cheque to the address provided in the completed prize claim form.

Answer: The prize claim media announcement is updated daily. The data will be correct as per McDonald’s records as of 23:59 the day before.
