Supplying the Irish bacon for your breakfast

Dew Valley Foods is a family-owned cooked bacon business based in Thurles, County Tipperary. It’s been working in partnership with McDonald’s Ireland and UK since 2013, supplying us with cooked ‘ready to eat’ bacon products. Dew Valley Foods remains committed to using Irish Board Bia pork suppliers, including local hauliers, contract caterers, warehousing and maintenance contractors. In September 2019, the company completed a €35 million investment into a new curing and cooking line at its facility in Thurles.

Since then, the company have invested in key sustainability projects. In November 2023, they commissioned a new 25-acre solar farm located on the land adjacent to Dew Valley Foods, which significantly reduces their dependency on electricity from the grid and their overall Scope 2 emissions. Other initiatives include recovering fat from the process to use in the boiler, achieving ISO 14001 and ISO 140064 certification, and continued focus on key environmental targets as part of the Bord Bia Origin Green scheme.
