Vice President of U.S. Communications, McDonald’s USA
As Vice President of U.S. Communications, Sandy is responsible for working with leaders across the organization to drive McDonald’s USA’s reputation and brand trust strategy. She serves as central point of contact for local and national community programs as the Brand continues to deepen its connections locally.
Sandy oversees the U.S. Communications team, including U.S. System and U.S. Leadership communications, and is aligned with the Global Impact function’s Global Centers of Excellence – Global Communications, Public Policy and Government Relations, Sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG), and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) – to develop impact strategies for the U.S. market.
Prior to joining McDonald’s, Sandy served as Vice President of Communications at Roche Diagnostics Corporation, leading the company’s integrated communications team and providing strategic direction and leadership for all corporate and marketing communications. Prior to that, she spent 15 years at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, including serving as VP of Communications for Takeda U.S.
Sandy has experience in the communications profession that spans the public and private sector. She has served as a senior staff writer for Chicago Public Schools and as a reporter for the City News Bureau of Chicago.
Sandy received her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She currently sits on the Board of Northern Illinois Food Bank. She lives in a northern suburb of Chicago with her husband and two daughters.
