McDonald's Saudi Arabia Receives Award from Ministry of Education for Tremendous Efforts on Supporting Individuals with Down Syndrome

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - The Ministry of Education awarded Riyadh International Catering Corporation “McDonald’s Saudi Arabia” for its continuous support of capability and capacity building of individuals with Down Syndrome during a ceremony sponsored by the Seeking Foundation.

 The award was presented by the Minister of Education his Excellency Yousuf bin Abdullah AlBonayan, in recognition of McDonald's Saudi Arabia continuous support to the cause which resulted in hiring employees with Down Syndrome in the Central, Eastern, and Northern Regions of Saudi Arabia in partnership with the Seeking Foundation.

The hiring process was conducted in partnership with the Seeking Foundation, and the objective of the initiative was to develop a program that builds and trains 50 beneficiaries of individuals with Down Syndrome and enhances their lifestyle. The initiative was a success, and McDonald's Saudi Arabia was able to provide employment opportunities for 14 individuals with Down Syndrome, contributing to their overall well-being and social inclusion.

The latest employment addition totaled to 66 Down Syndrome employees in February 2023, and more than 22 employees were successful in mounting their career paths and were promoted to leadership positions through focused and specialized training.

McDonald's Saudi Arabia has a long-standing commitment to social responsibility and has implemented various initiatives to support the community.
