10-25-2022
McDonald’s Qatar management holds team bonding exercise for staff at Qatar Bowling Center, as well as join crew in guest-experience roles across restaurants in Qatar
25 October 2022, Doha, Qatar: McDonald’s Qatar, 100% locally owned, managed, and operated by Al Mana Restaurants & Food Company W.L.L., celebrated Founder’s Day and Employee Appreciation Day this month. During both Days, the organization celebrated through various internal and guest-facing activations across restaurants. These Days come alongside the celebration of McDonald’s three core values for the organization: Community, Serve, And Family.
Commenting on the activities which took place, General Manager of McDonald’s Qatar, Mr. Mithqual Abu Nasser, said, “Creating a great customer experience starts with a great employee experience. Celebrating these two Days carry two points of strategic importance for McDonald’s Qatar. On the one hand, bonding activities enable us to come together to connect with our internal community, our McFamily, and strengthen our ties as people, colleagues, and friends. On the other, working alongside crew, managers, and consultants allows us to showcase our commitment, appreciation, and gratitude for the hard work which they do on a daily basis.”
Founder’s Day is an annually celebrated day on October 5, and aims to build awareness, understanding, and appreciation for the hard work at McDonald's restaurants by crew members.
This year, McDonald’s Qatar head office staff – including the General Manager along with head office staff from all departments – joined restaurant teams across the country and worked with them shoulder-to-shoulder. Additionally, head office staff also distributed ‘Be Our Guest’ vouchers to customers, which allow them to avail different menu items, like coffee, burgers or Crispy Chicken, completely free. Overall, 90 employees participated across 23 restaurants in Qatar.
Employee Appreciation Day is an annual celebration held on October 25, and aims to celebrate all of McDonald’s Qatar values and thank employees for their contributions to the company during the past year. The Day is meant to work as a catalyst to build a culture of recognition within the organization as well as encourage, reward, and celebrate employees.
For this Day, the head office staff conducted a team-building exercise at Qatar Bowling Center as well as held a raffle draw for restaurant crew members, where they won prizes such as coffee machines, air fryers, and Instax cameras.
To mark Employee Appreciation Day, showcasing its three longest-serving employees, who have an average of 26 years of service amongst them, McDonald’s Qatar also launched a people-profiling article: “Meet the Longest-Serving Employees of McDonald’s Qatar” on its LinkedIn page.
