Truckers at Drive Thru

03-25-2020

We at McDonald’s Canada, together with our franchisees across the country, are working together to remain open to provide hot meals to our guests for as long as municipal, provincial and federal governments continue to allow us to do so.

Since our recent decision to limit our operations to Drive-Thru and McDelivery, we heard from trucking associations and emergency vehicle drivers asking how we can make our food and beverages available when they are unable to bring a rig or large vehicle through the Drive-Thru.

Starting today, we have implemented a process through our MyMcD’s App to service transport trucks, fire crews and oversized essential service vehicles. Between 6:30 a.m. & 8 p.m., drivers operating transport trucks, fire crews and oversized essential service vehicles can now place a mobile order via MyMcD’s app when they arrive. After placing their order with the My McD’s app, we ask that they select curbside, enter stall 99 and park in an area that will allow other vehicles to pass.
Yesterday, we reached out to many associations to connect with its essential service workers, specifically transport truck drivers/ EMS, fire and first-responders and to acknowledge what they are doing to keep our communities steady in this time of uncertainty.  We provided the associations with an update on the change that we were implementing to ensure they could still access food and beverages from McDonald’s.
