Rod Halladay

Rod Halladay, Chief Restaurant Officer, oversees the implementation of strategy and operations for more than 1,400 franchised and corporate restaurants across Canada. Rod has over three decades of McDonald’s experience and has earned a reputation as a forward-looking leader who builds diverse teams, develops talent, and succeeds across restaurant operations and great customer experiences to drive results. He has been a leading force behind the organization’s talent management and succession planning programs, resulting in a strong pipeline of future leaders.

After completing his MBA at the University of British Columbia, Rod began his McDonald’s career as a Manager Trainee, quickly progressing through a variety of restaurant roles to eventually become an Operations Consultant.  From there, Rod advanced through a variety of restaurant-facing roles leading and supporting the success of both franchisee and corporate-owned restaurants. Prior to his current role, Rod was the Regional Vice President of Western Canada where he forged strong business partnerships with Owner-Operators to drive leading results across the strategic priorities of operations, growth, and people. 

Rod is passionate about giving back to the community and is a former Board Member of Ronald McDonald House BC. Most recently, he joined McDonald’s Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) Employee Business Network as an ally to gain insight into approaches for creating meaningful impact across the organization.
