Dave started his career as a crew member in Melbourne, Australia in 1997, before working his way up through the management ranks to Restaurant Manager. He developed an interest in restaurant technology and kickstarted his career by joining the corporate technology team in 2006.
From there, Dave was instrumental in helping take Australia to the forefront of McDonald’s tech adoption as a member of the country’s Innovation team. Dave’s ongoing leadership saw him selected to spearhead much of Australia’s Restaurant Response Process through the first stage of the COVID-19 pandemic, before becoming Regional Director in New South Wales, Australia’s largest market in overall sales. His key focuses during this time were bringing back the focus on restaurants basics in a post-lockdown world, as well as franchising and people development.
Dave and his family moved to Canada where he took on the role of Senior Director – Running Great Restaurant Technology. In April 2023, Dave became the CTO where he is focused on developing a strong pipeline of future McDonald’s leaders, and ensuring that Restaurant Technology is simple, stable and secure so that managers and crew can focus on running great restaurants.
