Reindeer Ready 2022 Prize Draws Promotion - Terms and Conditions

These are the rules (“Rules”) for the McDonald’s Reindeer Ready 2022 prize draws promotion (the “Promotion”):

1. The Promotion is promoted in the UK by McDonald’s Restaurants Limited, 11-59 High Road, East Finchley, London, N2 8AW, UK and in the Republic of Ireland by McDonald’s Restaurants of Ireland Limited, 14/15/16 Mary Street, Dublin, D01 DH59 (each is referred to as “McDonald’s” and the relevant McDonald’s company below will be determined by the context). The Promotion is subject to these Rules. By participating in the Promotion (or any part of it), each entrant agrees to be bound by these Rules.

2. The Promotion consists of 21 prize draws, with 12 prize draws taking place for residents of the United Kingdom (“UK”) and 9 prize draws taking place for residents of the Republic of Ireland (“ROI”) (each a Prize Draw). 

3. Only UK residents aged 18 and over at the time of entry may enter the UK prize draws.

4. Only ROI residents aged 18 and over at the time of entry may enter the ROI prize draws.

5. The following are not eligible to participate:

a. employees of McDonald's, McDonald's franchisees and employees of McDonald's franchisees and their immediate families;

b. employees of any company responsible for redemption of prizes or for supplying prizes for any part of the Promotion and their respective franchisees, subsidiaries, agents and advisors;

c. other persons assisting with the Promotion or otherwise professionally connected with the Promotion; or

d. any person entering via an agent or using the services of, or which is, an entity carrying on the business of entering (or advising on entering) prize promotions.

6. The Promotion consists of the following Prize Draws, split into the draw categories (defined in the following tables) with each draw opening and closing on the respective date and time stated and having the nature and quantity of prizes specified in the tables below (please note that the prizes are subject to various restrictions, as detailed in paragraphs 13 to 22 below):

7. Entries are restricted to one entry per e-mail address in each Draw Category. UK residents can enter one Prize Draw in each of the four Draw Categories for UK and residents in the ROI can enter one Prize Draw in each of the three Draw Categories for ROI. 

8. Each UK entrant can only win a maximum of one of each prize type (i.e. a maximum of one unique prize code to obtain a pair of Cinema Tickets, a pair of Christmas Jumpers, one prize of 2 sets of Pyjamas and one Christmas Carolling Experience (including a free McDonald’s delivery order totalling no more than £50) altogether) in this Promotion; any other entries by the entrant for the same prize type will be discounted. Each ROI entrant can only win a maximum of one of each prize type (i.e. a maximum of one unique prize code to obtain a pair of Cinema Tickets, a pair of Christmas Jumpers and one prize of 2 sets of Pyjamas) in this Promotion; any other entries by the entrant for the same prize type will be discounted.

9. To enter a Prize Draw, entrants must complete the mandatory fields of the respective entry form at www.reindeerready.co.uk (the “Site”) and submit the completed form during the applicable entry period for that Prize Draw.

10. Entries must be received by McDonald’s by no later than the respective closing time and dates as set out at paragraphs 6(a) and 6(b) above to be entered into the corresponding Prize Draw (each a "Closing Date"). Entries received after the relevant Closing Date will be void.

11. McDonald’s reserves the right to validate any claim and may ask for proof of identity and/or address and/or age.

12. In total, the prize fund for the Promotion consists of 1200 prize codes to obtain a pair of Cinema Tickets, 765 pairs of Christmas Jumpers, 573 pyjamas (consisting of 2 sets) and 3 carolling experiences (including a free McDonald’s delivery order totalling no more than £50). Further details on the prizes for the Promotion are as follows: 

Cinema Tickets

13. Within 10 days of the applicable Closing Date, each winner shall receive a unique prize code via email with redemption instructions. Winners will not be notified in advance. The unique prize code must be used to redeem the pair of cinema tickets on or before 19 December 2022. 

14. To obtain the pair of cinema tickets, the winner must visit https://sparkwinners.com/mcdonaldschristmas2022 and enter the unique prize code and choose their participating cinema on or before 19 December 2022. Each winner will then receive two codes to be used on or before 26 December 2022. Each code can be used to obtain a cinema ticket at the chosen participating cinema’s box office or online at the participating cinema’s website. A code can be used separately or in combination with the other code at the chosen participating cinema box office or website. The cinema chains participating in the promotion are:

a. in the UK - Cineworld, PictureHouse, Showcase, Empire, Reel, Savoy, Scott, Merlin, MovieHouse, The Light;

b. in the ROI – Omniplex and IMC. 

15. Codes may be redeemed for entry to a qualifying standard 2D screening on or before 26 December 2022 (where a “qualifying standard screening” excludes 3D, 4DX, D-Box, Super Screen, IMAX, Alternative Content, any premiere, event cinema, special event, event not open to the public, school booking, corporate or private hire).

16. Codes can be used to make bookings at a chosen cinema’s foyer Box Office or online. If codes are used to make a booking at the cinema’s foyer there are no additional charges. Online booking fees will be payable for online bookings. Codes can only be used once, cannot be used for any merchandise or item other than entry to the qualifying screening and may not be used for any special or private, viewing or booking. Any upgrade to premium seating or a non-standard screening will be subject to an additional fee and is at the cinema manager’s discretion. The terms and conditions of the selected participating cinema may be reviewed at the corresponding cinema-websites including (without limit) in connection with general admission and age. Normal film classification rules and normal age restrictions apply. The management for each participating cinema reserves the right to refuse admissions and its decision is final. 

17. Codes are not to be used for financial gain in resale or in conjunction with any other offer and are subject to any other applicable terms including, but not limited to, the terms and conditions found at https://sparkwinners.com/mcdonaldschristmas2022/terms-and-conditions 

Jumpers and Pyjamas

18. Within 30 days of the applicable Closing Date, each of the jumpers and pyjamas prizes will be posted to the respective winner’s postal address provided on entry on the corresponding Prize Draw form. Each winner will be notified in advance via an e-mail sent to the email address provided on entry on the corresponding Prize Draw form. 

Carolling Experience including a free McDonald’s delivery order (totalling no more than £50) (UK only)

19. Entrants must live within a 3 mile radius of a McDonald’s UK restaurant. If an entrant is selected as a winner of the relevant prize draw and, when contacted by a McDonald’s representative, provides an address which is outside a 3 miles radius of a McDonald’s UK restaurant, the winner shall be disqualified and the prize for this winner forfeited. The experience shall be recorded and photographed by or on behalf of McDonald’s. By entering the relevant Prize Draw you agree and provide consent (and shall ensure that your family and friends present at the time of the experience provide consent) to participating in such recording and photography (without additional compensation) and use of your (and your family and friends’) image and likeness in any and all media. Please do not enter if you do not live within a 3 mile radius of a McDonald’s UK restaurant or if you do not agree to you (and your family and friends) being recorded on your doorstep as part of the experience and the footage being used in various media.     

20. The carolling experience is organised by Red Consultancy. Each winner will be contacted via the telephone number provided on the corresponding Prize Draw form by Red Consultancy between 08:00am to 08:00pm between 9 December 2022 to 12 December 2022 to confirm the winner’s address, the winner’s McDonald’s food and drink order (up to a maximum of £50), the time of the delivery and carolling experience, and that the winner agrees (and that any family and friends present for the experience agree) to be recorded and photographed as part of the experience (including consenting to use of the winner’s (and its family and friends’) images and likenesses in any and all media without restriction). 

21. Red Consultancy shall attempt to contact each winner twice to arrange the experience. If there is no response, a backup winner will be contacted and the prize will be redistributed.

22. The free McDonald’s order shall be delivered at the same time as the carolling experience. The McDonald’s delivery order must total no more than £50. Prices of McDonald’s menu items may vary and items are subject to availability and serving times. There will be no cash award or change given if the full £50 is not utilised on the order.

General Terms

23. The winners will be selected within 5 days of the relevant Closing Date and be notified as set out in relation to each prize above. 

24. The winners for each Prize Draw will be selected at random from all valid entries received by the relevant Closing Date for the relevant draw. Each draw will be made from all valid entries at random under independent supervision or via a computer program producing a verifiably random draw.

25. There is no cash alternative (in whole or in part) and the prize is not transferable. McDonald's may substitute a product deemed to be an appropriate replacement and of equal or greater value in the place of any of the prizes.

26. All entries and any related material must be free from sexist, racist, defamatory, obscene, anti-religious, homophobic, bullying, harassing, violent, sexual or otherwise unacceptable content in the sole opinion of McDonald’s. McDonald’s reserves the right to review, edit, alter or remove any entry in its sole discretion, which does not comply with these Rules or which it reasonably believes does not comply with these Rules.

27. The Promotion is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.

28. All entries must be made directly by the person entering the Promotion. Entries made using methods such as a computer macro, a script or the use of automated devices or processes are not allowed and all such entries will be disqualified. 

29. McDonald’s reserves the right to exclude any entries which it believes to be fraudulent or based on misconduct, or if, in its reasonable opinion, it considers that there is a significant risk that the entrant may bring the McDonald’s brand into disrepute.

30. McDonald’s reserves the right to amend, terminate or temporarily suspend the Promotion (or any part of it) if, in its absolute discretion, it considers it necessary to do so. McDonald’s shall not exercise this right unreasonably.

31. No responsibility will be accepted by McDonald’s for incomplete, invalid or illegible entries and these will be declared void in the sole discretion of McDonald’s.

32. If using a device, computer and/or internet-access which is not owned or paid for by the entrant, the entrant is reminded to obtain the owner's permission before entering. McDonald’s will not be liable for any internet, mobile connection or other charges incurred in entering the Promotion (or any part of it).

33. McDonald’s is not responsible for changes in any entrant’s postal address or e-mail address.

34. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law (but not otherwise), McDonald's and its agents and/or commercial partners assume no responsibility and are not liable for: (i) the accuracy or otherwise of any prize description or illustration; (ii) (where applicable) the non-availability, loss, late receipt or damage of any text, prize-claim, prize or notification or other communication and whether by reason of mobile-telephone network-operator error or other problem, failed or corrupted transmission, handset failure (including full or unserviceable inbox) or otherwise; (iii) (other than those warranties or conditions implied by statute and which cannot be excluded) any representation, warranty, condition or guarantee in respect of a prize; or (iv) any taxes, fees, charges or other costs which winners may be required to pay in connection with a prize, (save to the extent expressly accepted by McDonald's in the Rules). Nothing in these Rules will limit McDonald's' liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for fraud, or any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. This does not affect entrants' statutory rights.

35. McDonald’s does not guarantee continuous uninterrupted access to the Site. Numerous factors outside the control of McDonald’s may interfere with the operation of the Site. No responsibility will be accepted for any technical or other difficulties in entering or any entries delayed or corrupted.

36. McDonald's will process all personal data in accordance with our privacy statement www.mcdonalds.com/gb/en-gb/terms-and-conditions/reindeerready-hub-privacypolicy.html. In particular McDonald's: (i) will not collect more of the entrant's personal information than needed for the purpose of administering and analysing this Promotion (including carrying out security checks as stated) and for posting features on its website which are informed by one or more entry-submissions; and (ii) will only use the entrant's personal information for those purposes (and such use may include transferring the entrant's personal information to McDonald's respective associates (e.g. The Marketing Store and Red Consultancy Limited) and / or any third-party fulfilment company on behalf of McDonald's behalf for the purposes of distributing the prizes for McDonald's promotions). McDonald's retains entrant's data for 28 days and a winner's data for a maximum of three months. In addition to the foregoing, McDonald's may process further information relating to entrants to the extent they separately receive communications from McDonald’s and / or have opted in receiving marketing messages (in which case personal data will be sent to McDonald's third party providers such as Armadillo for sending newsletters). 

37. Any enquiries about personal information held by McDonald's, including any request for deletion of personal data, may be made by contacting the Customer Services number which is notified on the Contact Us section of www.mcdonalds.co.uk for UK or customerservices.mcdonalds.ie/hc/en-gb/requests/new for ROI to obtain the contact name and address to which to send an envelope marked "Data Protection Request".

38. Without prejudice to McDonald's data protection obligations under relevant law, McDonald's shall, upon receipt of a written request to our Customer Services team at customerservices.mcdonalds.co.uk/hc/en-gb/requests/new for UK and at customerservices.mcdonalds.ie/hc/en-gb/requests/new for ROI, make available the surname and county of the winners. Entrants to a Prize Draw shall, at or before the time of entry, have the right to object to their surname and county being published in the event that they win a prize by contacting our Customer Services team at customerservices.mcdonalds.co.uk/hc/en-gb/requests/new for UK and at customerservices.mcdonalds.ie/hc/en-gb/requests/new for ROI. However, notwithstanding any such objection, McDonald's shall provide the surname and county of the winners to the UK Advertising Standards Authority or the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland upon receipt of a request from any such body.  

39. These Rules shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England but is subject to the mandatory local law protections for consumers, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction in the event of any dispute.
