Alistair Macrow was appointed Chief Executive Officer for McDonald’s UK & Ireland in November 2021.

Most recently, Alistair held the role of Senior Vice President and Global Chief Marketing Officer where he took responsibility for the development and execution of bold marketing strategies to drive sustainable business growth for McDonald’s across markets.

Alistair ascended to the Global CMO role following executive leadership roles in the UK and the International Operated Markets segment, which saw more than a decade of unprecedented growth. During this time, he was recognized with some of the industry’s highest accolades, including the Marketing Society’s Marketing Leader of the Year and IPA Effectiveness Award, and he provided the leadership that led McDonald’s to receive one of the first Cannes Lions for Creative Effectiveness. Alistair credits his success to his commitment to developing the world’s strongest marketing team and building the next generation of leaders.

Prior to joining McDonald’s in 2007, Alistair developed a career in the retail sector holding Business and Marketing leadership roles in Marks & Spencer, Debenhams and most recently Blockbuster.

Alistair earned a BA (Hons) in Business Studies with a Marketing focus from De Montfort University and a Market Research Society (MRS) Diploma.
