McDONALD’S UK&I BOOSTS PLANT-BASED OFFERING WITH NEW DOUBLE MCPLANT

• After a successful launch last year, McDonald’s is rolling out the NEW Double McPlant in all restaurants across the UK & Ireland from Wednesday 4^th Jan 2023

• This twice-as-nice burger is the answer to fans’ pleas, featuring not one, but two of the much-loved, juicy Beyond Meat® patties

• Double McPlant is here, joining the menu for all to enjoy – veggies, vegans, flexitarians and meat-eaters alike

McDonald’s UK&I is excited to reveal the launch of the long-awaited and much-requested Double McPlant, in all UK & Ireland restaurants from Wednesday 4^th January 2023. Just in time for those taking part in Veganuary or those who just simply crave a tasty new burger from McDonalds. 

The undeniably delicious McPlant, which took over three years to develop, features a patty co-created with Beyond Meat® and has already proved wildly successful with customers since its launch in September 2021. It’s no secret that people went wild for the taste, with many taking to Twitter to express their desire for a doubled-up version. 

One user said: “I know it’s 7am but when are @McDonaldsUK going to allow a Double McPlant?? All I want is the option to have two patties. this is the important stuff I need addressed.” (@hollzap) 

Another fan took to Twitter to say: “I have said on many occasions that the McPlant has changed my life, but if there were to be a double McPlant?  I can only imagine”. (@Psijguy) 

Customers have known and loved Double Big Mac, Chicken Big Mac, Double Quarter Pounder, Double and Triple Cheeseburger, now it’s time to welcome Double McPlant to the legendary line-up. Bringing double the flavour and double the fun, Double McPlant features two Beyond Meat® patties, a vegan sesame bun, mustard, ketchup, the ultimate vegan sandwich sauce, fresh onion, pickles, lettuce, tomato and of course, vegan cheese that tastes just like McDonald’s iconic cheese slices.

Double McPlant is vegan certified and cooked separately from other McDonald’s burgers and sandwiches, using dedicated utensils.
