What do the McDonald's employee stars mean and how do you earn them?

The stars represent four different modules of training: Quality, Service, Cleanliness, and Operational Excellence. Our crew members work and train in various areas of the restaurant – they're the people you see most, working behind the till and in the kitchens. They gain skills that are rewarded with the star once a level of clear understanding and application has been reached. Having all four stars demonstrates a competent knowledge in all areas of the restaurant operations, such as operating a till, preparing products, working in the dining areas and hygiene and safety knowledge. The stars displayed on each employee's uniform reflect their progress through our internal training scheme.
