What contracts does McDonald's offer?

December 05, 2024

At McDonald’s, we want to provide our employees with the flexibility to balance their work and personal commitments. Recognising that some individuals benefit from the stability of fixed hours which can help access financial products such as car loans and mobile phone contracts, we offer a range of employment contracts designed to ensure both happiness and security.

We provide various contract options to the diverse needs of our employees. Our flexible contract allows employees to arrange their work schedules around their personal commitments, allowing them to earn an income without compromising other responsibilities.

Additionally, we offer a Guaranteed Minimum Hours Contract (GMHC). This contract allows employees to select a set number of hours they wish to work each week, such as 20 hours. This guarantees a minimum of 20 hours of work per week, with the option to work additional hours if they wish, providing employees with both security and flexibility.

For employees with over 12 months of service in the Republic of Ireland, we offer a Banded Minimum Hours Contract (BMHC). This contract calculates the average weekly hours worked over the past year and places employees in a corresponding band. Employees are then scheduled to work the range of hours defined by their band, ensuring consistent and predictable scheduling based on their historical work patterns.
