About
Before McDonald’s
I had a successful career in accounting. Everything was actually going extraordinarily well, so taking the plunge into franchising came at great personal risk.
My connection with McDonald’s
I had no business connection with McDonald’s but I was very familiar with it as a customer. The brand itself is ubiquitous – I mean, who doesn’t know what McDonald’s is?
What inspired me to become a McDonald’s Franchisee
I became interested after a friend of mine was also keen on becoming a Franchisee, and after some changes took place at work, I found myself at a crossroads – and it was a now or never decision.
Top insight
The application process is very rewarding – they’re really good at knowing what sort of personality works well for a Franchisee. They let you be really honest, so there’s no pretence or fakery – and it helps you decide whether or not you want to invest and become a Franchisee. It’s not in the interest of McDonald’s to make someone a Franchisee if their heart’s not in it.
My growth
It’s really invigorating to know that you’re transforming your own life – and through the innovation of the business, you’re also taking great steps to bring positive change to your Crew and customers.
