About
Before McDonald’s
I had a career in the Police before becoming a Postmaster.
My connection with McDonald’s
Their marketing is superb, especially for people who like structure and procedures. They’re close to their consumer, but not above their station.
What inspired me to become a McDonald’s Franchisee
I wanted more from my career. Being a Postmaster taught me to think like a customer and not become detached from real life. Coming from Wales, where amazing opportunities like these can sometimes be less abundant, it was really important for me that I could become a Franchisee and grow where I came from.
Top insight
For people thinking about applying – you don’t have to be the ‘finished article’ to succeed; there’s so much there to support you. Have confidence in the fact you’re going in with the right skill set, the will and desire to get to where you want to be. When you’re up and running, you’ll live and breathe your franchise.
My growth
I didn’t realise how much I’d grown as a person. I’m truly proud to be Welsh and it’s a real joy to be able to serve my community with the restaurants under my wing.
