Before McDonald’s

I was previously an Operations Manager and I also had a property company . I have always been in Operations working in various sectors; Retail, Manufacturing and Logistics. I always wanted a business of my own, similar to my Grandfather and Uncle both of whom had their own businesses. They have always given me the inspiration that the sky is the limit. I have always wanted to leave a legacy and show that you can do more than you ever imagined.

My connection with McDonald’s

One of my earliest memories of McDonald’s is my 7th Birthday party. I was ecstatic and my friends thoroughly enjoyed it, the host was fantastic. From growing up going to McDonald’s with my family and looking forward to what exciting toy will be in my happy meal to, as a teenager, meeting my friends and having a McDonald’s! The brand to me means family and reminds me that McDonald’s is all about the people. I love that we are always innovating how we deliver for our customers to ensure we always delight!

What inspired me to become a McDonald’s Franchisee

I originally thought about McDonald’s franchising in my mid-20’s but I wanted to ensure I was a well-rounded..leader before taking the big step. I pursued a couple of bigger roles with larger operations remits, greater responsibility and higher headcount under my management. I also went back to University to pursue my Masters in Business. What I enjoy about the McDonald’s Franchising model is the proven business model. McDonald’s for me is a brand that has meant something to me from an early age. The support is excellent and I am part of a larger Franchise community. 

Top insight

It is all about the people and no day is the same. Yes, it is a big responsibility and it is a long term commitment. but you will build your own legacy! Put yourself forward, McDonald’s is not looking for the finished article. If you have the core attributes, that’s the starting blocks.
